Schultz Custom Homes Receives CAPS Certification

Schultz Custom Homes & Remodeling attended the National Home Builders national convention in Orlando, FL, January, 2011. While there we went through 24 hours of training and testing to become Certified Aging in Place Specialists (CAPS). This is truly an honorable accreditation that is the only one of it's kind to be endorsed by both the AARP and NAHB.
The CAPS program is designed to provide solutions to people who desire to stay in their homes longer while they may require special assistance due to age, a degenerative condition or a sudden change in circumstances.
As the baby-boomer generation approaches retirement age more and more people are looking ahead and choosing to make home improvements now that will enable them to age gracefully in their own home. Bathroom improvements are the most popular room given attention with walk-in showers having no curb. This eliminates a potential trip hazard and is at the same time a deign tend that is popular giving it the "roman shower" look.
Many new products are coming available for kitchen remodeling. Cabinets that allow for better accessibility, better lighting, wider isle ways and even counters that can raise and lower automatically with the touch of a button.
Of course if you need something more basic like grab bars, ramps or lifts we can do that too. And, in a way that is well thought out and done correctly so that it is sure to work for you.
