Creating a "Green Oasis"

Okay, so you have found yourself wanting to update your kitchen or bathroom.... since you will already be changing the space drastically, why not incorporate green elements into the remodel as well?  Many people falsely believe that recycled or certified green materials are significantly more costly than the old, standard items;  here at Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling, we aim to alter this idea.  Maybe in the infancy of green building could such a belief be substantiated, but the building industry has made an earnest effort to increase efficiency in the development of eco-friendly building materials as well as in the construction process, leading to a trickling-down process which is reflected in profit margins as well as in customer savings.

Rick Fedrizzi, CEO of the U.S. Green Building Council had this to say about current green building, "We are now at the point where you can build to LEED standards and it is not one penny more than conventional buildings.  We are more experienced now.  We have a proliferation of green building products and services."  From this perspective, it’s profitable and financially responsible to be environmental and build green.

The video found below provides an example of the cosmetic benefits of environmentally friendly building.  When making the decision to build green, there really are NO trade-offs; green products and homes are aesthetically beautiful, they provide financial savings in the future resulting from energy efficiency, and they end up costing about the same as conventional builds.  So our question to you is.... what do you have to lose? Now is the time to build green, ask us how Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling can help you create your "green oasis".

The NARI "DYL- Design Your Life" Remodeler's Showcase: 2011

Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling had the great privilege of being part of the NARI Remodelers Showcase from April 29th- May 1st, 2011.  This was the show’s first year in the Queen City and thanks to the meticulous preparation of NARI’s Charlotte chapter, there was a great turnout and many contacts made.  Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling has been involved in numerous tradeshows throughout the years, and decided to take a different approach at this year’s NARI remodeler’s showcase.  As the owner of Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling, I carefully researched the demographics of Charlotte’s historic South End (the neighborhood hosting the event) before deciding on an aesthetic direction for our company’s exhibit.  Drawing inspiration from NARI’s idea of a boutique themed show, we (Janet and I) felt that our company should reflect this same look and feel.
Since 2007, we have mainly been custom building and renovating homes in the Cabarrus County area.  Wanting to break into the Greater Charlotte market, I knew that making an impact at this event would rely heavily on the visual appeal of the Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling exhibit.  Playing off of NARI’s “boutique” motif, we hung ornately framed pieces of art amongst photos of our finished projects/jobs.  Some of this art included photography of ancient doorways, windows, and buildings.  The intermingling of art pieces with photos of new kitchens, baths, and additions completed by Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling, served as a conduit between different forms of artistic expression.  As a company, we take immense pride in our work, viewing each completed job as a creative externalization of our passion.
Equipped with an eye-catching booth, we saw great success at NARI’s Remodeler’s Showcase.  After being drawn into the exhibit, the show’s attendees were warmly greeted by company staff who then freely offered them an array of promotional items (such as Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling wine openers) as well as informational literature.  Included in the exhibit was a consultation area for those attendees wishing to speak in depth with Janet or I about their home remodeling needs.
Undoubtedly, the Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling team has now broken into the Charlotte, NC home renovation market.  We maintain that we still thoroughly enjoy working with homeowners in our area of Cabarrus County and are looking forward to the idea of offering the same customer satisfaction to residents of the Greater Charlotte, NC region.
